This Digital learning Center website is your resource to the KCAD Digital Art and Design knowledge base and relevant external resources. It's free for anyone to use.

The Digital Learning Center staff is available to help you learn how to use digital software and hardware. It is staffed by upper level talented and digitally savvy students from KCAD.

We can assist you with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other software. If you would like to learn how to use a Cintiq (a Wacom display where you draw directly on the monitor), we can show you. If you have a question that we don't know how to answer, we will help you find a solution.

We are located at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University on the 7th floor of the Fountain Street building in the Digital Media HUB. Here's a little information about our DLC STAFF:

Hey, Howdy, Hey! Im Chloe, a Senior in Digital Media here at Kendall with a focus in 2D Animation and Digital Imaging. I love making digital art for children's media (my specialty is drawing cute stuff) whether it be paintings, illustration, or animations/motion graphics. I work mostly in Photoshop and Adobe Flash (Animate CC) as well as Illustrator, After Effects, and Garage Band. In addition to programs, I also do lots of figure drawing at the open life sessions and can offer help in that area. While my expertise is mainly in the 2D realm, I have a some basic knowledge of MODO so if you need help in 3D software I will try my best to help out. If you have any burning questions, want some critique, or just made a cute illustration of a puppy you want to share, don't hesitate to swing by and I'll be happy to help out!

Hello everyone, I'm Ethan, the guy that wears that orange hat all the time. I am a senior Digital Media student at Kendall with a focus on 3D game art. My expertise is in 3D modeling, so if you need help with Modo, Blender, or any other 3D programs I'm sure i can help you. Other then 3D modeling i have lots of experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Audition, Flash/Animate, Unity and Garageband. I Even know a bit of programming, so if you need help with Actionscript i can give you a hand. Basically i can help you with anything you want, so don't be afraid to come up and ask me for help!

Yo! I'm Trevor, but you're welcome to call me Trev (I like to keep things pretty chill). I'm a Digital Media junior and I absolutely love concept art; sci-fi, medieval or just plain weird. I've been using Adobe programs for almost eight years now, with a strong emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Flash. However, I know there's more to Digital Media than just Adobe, so I've begun branching out into the 3D realm too, with programs like Zbrush and MODO. If you ever have any questions or just want to show off something cool you've made, feel free to stop by! I'll do my absolute best to help you out in any way I can.

Searching the DLC is a 2-step process. This is because much of our content links to resources outside of the site. So if the 1st search step does not find content within the DLC site, the 2nd step will likely find a link to an outside resource.
  1. Type your search term into the search box at the top of the page.
  2. If your search results only give you results listing main pages within the DLC site... go to that page then click "Command-F" or "Control-F". Enter your search term in the "word-find box" that will appear at the top of the page.
