The Digital Learning Center is available to help you learn how to use digital software and hardware. It is staffed by upper level talented and digitally savvy students from KCAD.

We can assist you with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other software. If you would like to learn how to use a Cintiq (a Wacom display where you draw directly on the monitor), we can show you. If you have a question that we don't know how to answer, we will help you find a solution.

We are located at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University on the 7th floor of the Fountain Street building in the Digital Media HUB. You can stop in to see us in person or ask questions through our forum.

Introducing our DLC staff:

Hello all! I'm  a working professional comic book artist by trade with experience in penciling, inking, lettering and coloring. I attended the Kubert School for my cartooning training and I have a passion for digital art as well! Working mostly in Photoshop I've been coloring comics for 9 years now. Being currently enrolled full time in the Digital Media department. I have experience with Maya, MODO, Quixel, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Muse, Experience Design, Audition, Corel Painter, Manga Studio, and Garageband. If you have questions - specific or general - I'll do my best to help you!

Hey, Howdy, Hey! Im Chloe, a Senior in Digital Media here at Kendall with a focus in 2D Animation and Digital Imaging. I love making digital art for children's media (my specialty is drawing cute stuff) whether it be paintings, illustration, or animations/motion graphics. I work mostly in Photoshop and Adobe Flash (Animate CC) as well as Illustrator, After Effects, and Garage Band. In addition to programs, I also do lots of figure drawing at the open life sessions and can offer help in that area. While my expertise is mainly in the 2D realm, I have a some basic knowledge of MODO so if you need help in 3D software I will try my best to help out. If you have any burning questions, want some critique, or just made a cute illustration of a puppy you want to share, don't hesitate to swing by and I'll be happy to help out!

Searching the DLC is a 2-step process. This is because much of our content links to resources outside of the site. So if the 1st search step does not find content within the DLC site, the 2nd step will likely find a link to an outside resource.
  1. Type your search term into the search box at the top of the page.
  2. If your search results only give you results listing main pages within the DLC site... go to that page then click "Command-F" or "Control-F". Enter your search term in the "word-find box" that will appear at the top of the page.

The exhibition space can be utilized however the artist sees fit, sign up is free and group sign-ups are also welcome!
After you sign up for exhibitions dates, you'll need to email your contact information to Bill Fischer at fischerb@ferris.edu.
